Searching for the PICOT family

November 2005 updates in blue

My Great Aunt Ellen Agnes DOVE married Charles PICOT at St Georges Catholic Church, St Saviour, Southwark, London on 24th February 1895. Ellen was the daughter of William Henry DOVE and Mary nee MAHONEY and she was born, St Saviour Surrey Jan.8th 1873.

I found the family on the 1901 Census living at 17 Jonathon Street, Lambeth; Charles and "Nellie" now have 3 daughters:
Katherine Mary "Kate" 5yrs.*
Ellen Cecilia "Nellie" 4yrs,
and Mary age 2yrs.
*In Toronto Dec 1920 Kathleen (sic) Mary PICOT married Herbert Granville HARRISON

Further research has found another 2 daughters:
Rosina Bessie# born in 1901 shortly after the death of her sister Ellen Cecilia "Nellie"
and Ellen Julia born in 1904, died 1906 age 1.
#Rosina Bessie PALMER nee PICOT died Dec 22nd 1989 in Canada. The death notice found in the archives of the"Toronto Star" says she is the sister of Mary OLDFIELD of Toronto and the late Kathleen HARRISON. These discoveries were only made recently and were really just lucky finds in my search for the family

Ellen Agnes died in 1924 at 20 Gundulf St. Lambeth, she is a Widow but her daughter R. Picot "Rosina"? was in attendance.
Searches for the death of Charles and the marriages of any of the daughters have found nothing - maybe other members can help?

I still do not know if Charles PICOT ever came to Canada and I have yet to find any trace of him past 1901 but I continue to search.
