Searching for the LEFEVRE/LEFEVER familyFor several years now I have been researching my Great Great Grandfather Edward LEFEVRE/LEFEVER.
Born in Portsmouth in 1800 Edward was the son of a silk weaver Thomas Lefevre. Edward married 3 times but it is his second marriage to Mary Ann GRUBB that I have been unable to find.
Edward settled in Southwark during the early 1830's where his first wife Charlotte died at St George the Martyr, Southwark 1838.
The 1841 census shows that Edward Lefevre is living with wife Mary Ann.
I have found a son born to Edward and Mary Ann in St Mary Magdalen,Bermondsey in 1843 and the record of Mary Ann's death also in Bermondsey Surrey in 1853 but although I have searched the 1837 website, FFHS and the FreeBMD site I am still unable to find a marriage record.
Also missing is a record of Edwards birth and his death. The last entry for Edward was the 1881 census,
Elizabeth Edward's third wife is shown on the 1891 census as a widow but again despite all my searching this record is also as yet unfound.
Any help or suggestions would be most welcome,
