Family of Alexander James Scott Macdonald 1912 -I am having more trouble finding living relatives in the London area than I had tracing ancestors in the 1600s.
My first John Macdonald was born about 1680 in the village of Raitts Inverness.
The missing John Macdonald was born in Barnes in 1942, the son of Alexander James Scott Macdonald, born about 1912 and married in Hammersmith to Jeannette Kathleen Joslin in 1937. They had first, a daughter Janet Florence Macdonald born in Hammersmith in 1940, followed by a son John Macdonald, born in Castlenau Gardens, Barnes on the 3rd July 1942. That is as far as I can get, and searches for marriages has so far proved fruitless.
GRO has turned up several Johns but none with a father with the memorable name of Alexander James Scott Macdonald. There are so many John Macdonalds, and I have written to so many with only one possibly helpful clue. Of all the John Macdonalds in London he is one of the (relatively) few with no middle initial. I have also spent much time searching for the marriage of Janet with similar results.
